How to add a watermark to a photo

Upload a photo, type your watermark text, and adjust opacity, size, and rotation — the preview updates live as you drag each slider, so you can see exactly how it'll look before downloading. The watermark is drawn once, centered and rotated, directly into the photo's pixels.

A photo watermark is useful whenever you're sharing a preview before the full version is available — marking a portfolio image "SAMPLE" before a client pays for the final file, labeling a screenshot "DRAFT" or "CONFIDENTIAL" before it's shared, or adding a credit line to a photo posted publicly. Because it's drawn as real pixel content, it stays in place through screenshots, reposts, and any viewer — it isn't a removable overlay.

Why watermark a photo?
Common reasons: marking a photo as a preview or "SAMPLE" before sharing a full-resolution version, adding a name or credit line to a portfolio image, or labeling a screenshot with a status like "DRAFT" or "CONFIDENTIAL" before it's shared or posted.
Can I remove the watermark after downloading?
Not from this tool — once downloaded, the watermark is drawn permanently into the image's pixels, the same as any other content on the photo. To use different watermark text, start again from your original (unwatermarked) photo.
Does this work on both JPG and PNG?
Yes — the watermarked photo downloads in the same format you uploaded, a PNG stays a PNG and a JPG stays a JPG.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No — the watermark is drawn entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your photo never leaves your device.
