Splitting a PDF is useful any time you need to hand over less than the whole document: pulling one chapter out of a report, separating a signature page from the rest of a contract, breaking a scanned batch of receipts into individual files, or extracting just the pages a form actually asks for instead of sending the entire original. Because everything runs in your browser, there's no page-count cap and no watermark added to the output — the split files are byte-identical in content to the pages in your original PDF, just re-packaged into new file(s).
What format should I use for a page range?
Comma-separate pages or ranges, e.g. "1-3, 5, 8-10" extracts pages 1 through 3, page 5, and pages 8 through 10, in that order.
What's the difference between the two split modes?
"Extract a page range" pulls the pages you specify into a single new PDF, in the order you list them — useful for pulling one chapter or section out of a larger document. "Split into single pages" breaks every page of the original into its own separate PDF and hands them all back to you in one ZIP file — useful when you need each page as its own document, e.g. splitting a scanned batch of invoices.
Is there a page limit or watermark?
No limit on page count and no watermark — unlike many free online splitters that cap how many pages you can process or stamp their branding onto the output, this tool has neither restriction because there's no server-side processing to meter.
Does splitting reduce the quality or file size of the pages?
No — each split-out page keeps the exact same content, fonts, and image quality as the original. File size per page is roughly proportional to how much content that page holds, since nothing is recompressed or re-rendered.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
You'll need to remove the password first (most PDF viewers can do this if you know the password) — an encrypted PDF can't be read by the in-browser library this tool uses to split pages.
