How to resize an image online

Upload a JPG or PNG, type the exact width and/or height you need (aspect ratio is locked by default, so changing one updates the other automatically), or use a quick-scale percentage button. Click "Resize & download" to get the result.

An exact pixel size is usually a requirement someone else set — a job or visa application portal, a website's fixed image slot, a print lab's spec sheet — rather than something you'd choose on your own, which is why locked aspect ratio is the default: it keeps your photo looking correct while hitting the number you were given.

What's the difference between this and Compress Image?
Compress Image controls file size and visual quality via a quality slider, keeping the original dimensions. This tool controls the exact output dimensions (width and height in pixels) instead — useful when a form or website requires a specific image size.
Why would I need an exact pixel size?
Common cases: a job portal or form that only accepts a photo of exact dimensions, a website or CMS with a fixed image slot size, a social media platform's recommended dimensions, or a print service that specifies pixel dimensions for a given print size.
What happens if I unlock the aspect ratio?
Width and height can then be set independently, which will stretch or squash the image to fit — useful when a target size genuinely doesn't match your photo's proportions, though it does distort the image.
Will resizing up (making it bigger) improve quality?
No — enlarging an image doesn't add detail that wasn't there; it just stretches existing pixels, which usually looks softer or blurrier at a larger size. Resizing works best to make an image smaller, not bigger.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No — resizing happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your eyes only — we never get a look.
