How to merge PDF files
Add the PDF files you want to combine, drag to reorder them if needed using the up/down buttons, then click "Merge & Download." The tool stitches every page from every file into a single PDF, in the order shown, and downloads it straight to your device.
Merging comes up in a lot of everyday situations: joining a cover letter to a résumé before emailing it, combining scanned receipts into one file for an expense report, stitching together chapters of a report that different teammates worked on separately, or assembling a set of scanned pages from a phone scanner app into a single document. Since each source PDF's pages are copied over as-is, a merged file made from a mix of portrait and landscape pages, or pages of different sizes, will keep each page exactly as it was in the original — nothing gets stretched, cropped, or re-rendered as an image.
Can I merge PDFs with different page sizes or orientations?
Yes — each page keeps its own original size and orientation in the merged file. Pages aren't resized or rotated to match each other, so a landscape page from one source PDF and a portrait page from another will sit side by side in the same document exactly as they were.
Does merging preserve hyperlinks, form fields, or bookmarks from the original files?
Hyperlinks and fillable form fields are preserved, since pages are copied directly rather than flattened into images. Bookmarks (the PDF outline/table of contents shown in some viewers' sidebar) from the original files aren't currently carried over into the merged document.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No — merging happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript, which is what makes it safe: your PDFs stay with you and are never sent anywhere. See how it works for the technical details.
Is there a file size or page limit?
No artificial limit — it's bound only by your device's memory, so very large batches may be slower.
Can I reorder pages before merging?
You can reorder whole files using the up/down arrows next to each file. Page-level reordering within a single file is coming soon.
Will merging affect my PDFs' quality or formatting?
No — pages are copied directly from each source file into the merged PDF, not re-rendered as images, so text stays selectable/searchable and there's no loss of image quality or formatting.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not directly — remove the password from each protected file first (most PDF viewers have a "remove password" or "print to PDF" option once you've entered the password), then merge the unlocked files here.
Does this work on my phone?
Yes — it runs in any modern mobile browser the same way it does on desktop. Very large or numerous files may be slower on a phone's more limited memory, but there's no separate app or mobile version needed.
