How to edit an image online

Upload a photo. Use Rotate/Flip to reorient it, drag the amber crop box to move it and drag its corner/edge handles to resize it, then click "Apply crop." Use the Brightness/Contrast sliders for live adjustments. Click "Download edited image" when you're happy with the result, or "Reset to original" to start over.

This covers the handful of adjustments most photos actually need before sharing or uploading somewhere: straightening a sideways photo, cropping out something at the edge of the frame, or brightening a shot that came out a little dark — without opening a full desktop photo editor for a 10-second fix.

Can I undo a crop or rotation?
Use the "Reset" button to start over from the original uploaded image. Individual steps aren't undoable one at a time — rotate, flip, and crop apply immediately.
What kinds of edits can I make?
Rotate in 90° steps, flip horizontally or vertically, crop to any area with a draggable crop box, and adjust brightness/contrast with live sliders — the core adjustments most people need without a full photo editor.
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No — cropping just removes pixels outside the selected area; the pixels that remain are untouched. Quality only changes if you also compress the file afterward, which this tool doesn't do automatically.
What format does the downloaded image come in?
The edited image downloads in the same format you uploaded — a PNG stays a PNG, a JPG stays a JPG. For a size-specific or quality-controlled export instead, use Resize Image or Compress Image after editing.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No — all editing happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your eyes only — we never get a look.
Can I lock the crop box to a specific aspect ratio?
Not currently — the crop box can be freely resized to any shape by dragging its corners or edges, but there's no fixed-ratio lock (like 1:1 or 4:3). For a crop box locked to a specific ratio, use the Passport Photo Maker's presets instead.
Does this work on mobile, with touch to drag the crop box?
Yes — dragging the crop box and its resize handles works with touch the same way it does with a mouse, so cropping and rotating a photo works fine on a phone or tablet without needing a desktop.
