How to create an invoice online
Enter your business name, address, and contact details, and if you have one, upload your own logo. Add your client's name and address, an invoice number, issue date, and an optional due date. List each item or service with a quantity and rate — the amount and running total calculate automatically. Add an optional discount, tax rate, your bank or payment details, and any notes, then click "Generate PDF" to download the finished invoice.
This is built for freelancers and small businesses who need a clean, correctly-itemized invoice without opening accounting software for a single bill — a designer invoicing a one-off logo project, a consultant billing hours for the month, or a small shop sending a formal receipt a client specifically asked for. Choose between INR, USD, EUR, or GBP if you bill internationally, and pick a color theme to match how you'd like the invoice to look. Because it runs entirely in your browser, your client's name, address, and the amount you're charging never touch a server, which matters if you're invoicing anything you'd rather keep private.
Is this invoice legally valid?
This tool generates a properly formatted invoice with the fields most businesses and clients expect. Whether a specific invoice meets your jurisdiction's legal or tax requirements depends on your business registration and applicable tax rules — this tool doesn't verify compliance, so check what your situation requires before relying on it for tax filing.
Can I add my own logo?
Yes — upload a JPG or PNG of your own logo and it's placed at the top of the invoice. There's no pre-loaded logo or brand library; you can only use an image you upload yourself.
Does this support GST invoices?
Yes — there's an optional tax field for a GST percentage, calculated on the subtotal and shown as a separate line before the total. For a full GST-compliant tax invoice you may also want to add your GSTIN and your client's GSTIN in the notes field, since there aren't dedicated fields for those.
Is my client or business data stored anywhere?
No — the invoice is generated entirely in your browser using pdf-lib, and nothing you enter is uploaded to a server. After each generated invoice, the details are cached in your browser's local storage on this device only (so you can reload them via "Load last used" next time, or clear it with "Clear form") — this never leaves your device.
I bill several different clients — do I have to re-enter my own business details every time?
No — tick "Remember my business details" once and your business name, address, contact info, and logo are cached on your device and auto-filled every time you open the page. Only the "Bill to" section (client name, address, line items) needs to change per invoice. This is separate from "Load last used," which reloads the full previous invoice including client details.
Can I choose a different invoice layout?
Yes — use the "Layout template" dropdown to switch between Classic (plain header, itemized table), Modern (bold color header band), and Minimal (no borders, compact spacing). All three include the same fields; only the visual styling changes.
Can I add a discount to an invoice?
Yes — choose either a percentage or a flat amount, applied to the subtotal before tax is calculated. It shows as its own line on the invoice, so the client can see the discount separately from the final total.
Can I include my bank details for payment?
Yes — there's a dedicated payment details field, separate from general notes, for your account name, account number, IFSC, UPI ID, or however your client needs to pay you. It prints as its own section above the general notes.
Can I use a currency other than Indian Rupees?
Yes — choose INR, USD, EUR, or GBP from the currency dropdown, and every amount on the invoice updates to use that currency's symbol and number formatting.
