Your files: never uploaded, never seen, never stored

Every PDF, image, or photo you process on PDFForYou is handled entirely inside your own browser using JavaScript — no file is ever transmitted to any server, ours or anyone else's. This isn't a policy promise layered on top of a server-based tool; it's how the site is technically built (see how it works for the full explanation, including how to verify this yourself). Because your file never leaves your device, we have no copy of it, no log of its contents, and nothing to disclose, lose, or have breached.

What we do collect

The site itself — the pages, tool code, and images that make PDFForYou work — is served from Netlify's hosting infrastructure. Like virtually any website, that means standard server-access logs (IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp) are generated automatically by the hosting provider for operational and security purposes. We don't run any separate server of our own, and we don't combine these logs with anything else about you.

Local storage and cookies

The only thing PDFForYou stores on your device directly is a single entry in your browser's local storage, remembering whether you've accepted or declined the cookie notice, so it doesn't show again on your next visit. It contains no personal information and isn't sent anywhere. If analytics (Google Analytics 4 and/or Cloudflare Web Analytics) are enabled on this site, they may set their own cookies or use similar local storage to measure aggregate traffic — see the next section for exactly what's currently active.

Analytics

PDFForYou may use privacy-conscious analytics (Google Analytics 4 and/or Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are visited, roughly how many people use each tool — never anything about the files you process, since those never reach any server to begin with. If and when analytics is active, it's limited to standard traffic metrics and doesn't track you individually across other websites.

Advertising

If ad slots on this site are active (via a network like Google AdSense), that network may set its own cookies and collect data according to its own privacy policy, independent of PDFForYou. We don't share any file content with advertisers, since we never have access to it ourselves.

Third-party services this site loads

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). The two AI-powered tools (Remove Background, and Passport Photo's optional background swap) fetch their machine-learning model files from Google's public model hosting (storage.googleapis.com) the first time you use them — this is the model itself downloading to your browser, not your photo being sent anywhere; the model then runs entirely on your device.

Your rights

Since we don't collect or store personal data or file content, there's generally nothing to request access to, correct, or delete on our end beyond the local-storage cookie preference already described (which you can clear yourself via your browser's site settings). Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the site changes — for example, if analytics or advertising is added or changed. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
